Three years ago, Sophia Brown was involved in a life-threatening auto accident that put her career on hold. After multiple surgeries, she returned this year with two well-received songs.
“2020 was a good year musically for me. After coming back on the music scene from my accident I really stepped up to the plate and put out two massive singles, ‘Baby When You Left’ and ‘Stronger’. They have done what I expected them to do musically, and the fans gravitated as if they were waiting for Sophia Brown to come back stronger and stronger, and needless to say I proved myself,” she said.
Released on Valentine’s Day, “Baby When You Left” is produced by Sidney Mills, former keyboardist with Steel Pulse. The self-produced “Stronger” came out in June.
“Baby When You Left” is a throwback to the early British lovers rock era of the late 1970s. It has been nominated for Best Reggae Single at the Bright Star Awards, scheduled for London late this month.
The COVID-19 virus has put a damper on most global sectors, including the entertainment industry. Sophia Brown is looking to make another comeback once things improve.
“My immediate plans are to get back into music, since we were slowed down by the pandemic and we have to keep social distancing. Things were a bit put off but I do plan on getting back into the studio to release a new single and a new video, that will be followed by an EP,” she said.
